Re: 'Time for the Democrats to get to work'

With the House and Senate turning blue, problems will not be solved; rather, problems will be created. Democrats say they will limit out-of-control spending, balance the budget, fix healthcare and give a fresh approach on Iraq. All the Democratic Congress will do is slowly turn off the money faucet in Iraq and force the troops home; that is their so-called fresh approach. Then they will take money not spent on the troops and throw it at the numerous social programs we have here, so I doubt there will be any less spending. A Democrat’s idea of fixing healthcare is socialization, so please don’t be fooled.

The new House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi, is the worst person we could have holding that position. This is a person who opposed the first Gulf War in 1991 because it would create environmental damage in Kuwait. She voted no on the following topics: reducing taxes on Social Security benefits, any kind of tax cut, reporting illegal immigrants after receiving hospital treatment, allowing pilots to carry guns after 9/11, protecting the Pledge of Allegiance, hated the Patriot Act and, finally, also voted no on a constitutional amendment prohibiting flag desecration. She also advocates legalizing marijuana.

John Murtha is also a person who shouldn’t be in office. Just go check his voting record and combine that with his past statements and tell me how you support him. Being a Vietnam vet and all, he should recognize that pulling our troops out of Iraq is a big mistake. There goes a saying that is successful to this day: Don’t fight the American soldiers on the battlefield; use the media and the willing left party as a mouthpiece to complicate the war effort and damage the country’s will to fight.

By the outcome of this year’s Congressional elections, an educated one can only see that we have now lost the War on Terror completely. This is a major victory for the Syrians, Iranians and terrorists alike. George Santayana, philosopher, once said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
