Official wrestling season begins

FALLBROOK — The official wrestling season began on November 11 but the team, their parents and the boosters have already been busy raising funds to make this the best year ever for the wrestlers. The wrestlers have been out in the community since October 20 seeking individual sponsors for the Adopt-a-Wrestler program. This is a fundraising program that will continue throughout the season, so everyone will have plenty of opportunities to join all those who have already adopted their own wrestler.

On October 28 the team had a very successful car wash. They want to thank the Happy Jug Liquor Store for letting them use their parking lot, and all those people who donated to the team and got their cars washed, as well as all those who donated supplies and their time to make this such a great event.

The wrestlers will be at Albertsons and Major Market on November 18, 22 and 30 selling Gold Tickets. These are discount booklets that can be used to save money at many local and national stores and restaurants. This is a way people help the team and themselves at the same time.

Then, on Thursday, November 16, the wrestlers, coaches and boosters will start the season’s activities with a parent meeting at the high school. This meeting is open to all interested parties and is being held to inform the parents about the upcoming season and to discuss the team’s dream of building a truly first-class competitive wrestling program in Fallbrook.
