Versa-tility the name of the game for Sentra's '07 replacement

With the introduction of the 2007 Nissan Versa, now available at Mossy Nissan’s six San Diego county locations, the automaker has broken new ground in design and made its presence known in the under-$20,000 market.

“The new Versa is a sophisticated vehicle similar in size to its competitors, but loaded with more features, performance and room than one would expect in a small car,” said Peter Mossy, president of Mossy Automotive Group. Replacing the venerable Sentra, the new Versa is attractively designed with small car simplicity, maneuverability and a strong emphasis on basics like power and fuel economy.

The Versa is available in two trims, the S and the SL, and is designed for people to drive long distances in comfort. First introduced as a five-door hatchback, a four-door sedan version will hit local dealerships this fall.

One of the Versa’s most impressive features is the amount of space inside. Its layout accommodates five passengers, generous cargo space and plenty of head and leg room in both the front and rear of the vehicle. The high-mounted center control panel, manual shifter, dash panel switches and gauges are well-placed for easy access and clarity. Raised seating adds both comfort and visibility while the rear seats fold flat to accommodate the cargo requirements of owners with active lifestyles.

Safety-wise, drivers will appreciate the six air bags that are standard on both trims as well as the zone-body construction with front and rear crumple zones. The Versa also comes standard with a tire pressure monitoring system, front disc and rear drum brakes, vehicle immobilizer, LATCH system and child safety rear door locks. Both trims come standard with AM/FM stereo radio and CD player, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, intermittent wipers and 60/40 folding rear seatbacks.

Assembled with high-quality materials, the new 2007 Nissan Versa allows price-conscious consumers to have it all in an attractive and affordable package. Although it may be entry level in affordability, there can be no doubt that it is advanced in quality, design, performance, safety, technology and, above all, roominess. Maybe the best description can be found right there in its name: Versa-tile.
