Field Day a complete success!

Last Saturday, the San Diego Section all headed to the Fallbrook High School to compete at the San Diego Section Field Day. Field days are competitions for each judging team, including specialty animal, farm records, small engines, light horse, livestock, farm power, nursery/landscape, floriculture, BIG and vegetable.

The Fallbrook Ag Boosters generously provided lunch for all the chapters that attended and bought all of the trophies for the winning teams. Their support is greatly appreciated.

Overall, the Fallbrook FFA students did an excellent job! The Fallbrook FFA members competed in the contests of specialty animal, farm records, light horse, livestock, farm power, nursery/landscape, floriculture, BIG and vegetable.

In the specialty animal contest, Kelsey Adams placed second, Amanda Stamp placed third, Hannah Binstied placed fourth and Tara Glidden placed seventh; their A team placed first and their B team placed third. In the farm records contest, Melissa Morrison placed second and their team placed third. In the light horse contest, Raquel Varella placed seventh, Taylor Zumstein placed ninth and their team placed third. In the farm power contest, Jeff Stephenson placed third and their team placed sixth. In the nursery/landscape contest, Maggie Maratsos placed first, Sheena Moore placed seventh, Ryan Rico placed eighth and their team placed third. Also last Saturday, Fallbrook FFA members volunteered to carry signs at the annual Christmas parade in Fallbrook.

The members in the Fallbrook FFA chapter are working hard this year and are getting ready for the busiest part of the year, after break. After winter recess, there are more field days, Parliamentary Procedure teams begin practicing and more students get their SAEP projects! The later months of the year are exciting ones and students are looking forward to working hard and keeping up Fallbrook FFA’s reputation of hard workers, positive students and successful members!
