Frazier School holds book giveaway

FALLBROOK — William H. Frazier School celebrated Children’s Book Week (November 12-18) by having a book giveaway to promote book ownership, fun literacy-related activities and family involvement. All of the students were able to rotate into the library, where they picked out a free book of their choice. The books were purchased with bonus points collected over the years. The school hopes to have sponsorship from community organizations for their next book giveaway in March to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Classrooms like Mrs. Jenkins’ first grade made “bookworm” books and decorated a bulletin board with their favorite books. At the end of the day on Friday, classrooms buddied up and read to each other. The children also decorated and gave bookmarks to their buddy readers.
