Tina Powers

Tina Powers, 72, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on December 4. Her passing was painless and sudden due to a brain aneurysm. She touched so many throughout her life.

Tina grew up in Monterey Park and attended Mark Keppel High School. She and her husband raised their family in Rosemead, West Covina and La Verne. After she retired in 1994 from West Covina Unified School District, they moved to Fallbrook, where she thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years.

She was very active in many aspects of her church, Christ The King Lutheran, and numerous community and social activities, including volunteering at the Fallbrook Sheriff’s Department, St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, Fallbrook Community Hospital and Newcomers/Encore, among a variety of social activities.

Tina and Dick, her husband and best friend of 49 years, enjoyed a rich and spiritual life together. They shared a love of being with their friends, RVing, dancing and traveling. Their greatest joy was when they were surrounded by their family.

Though she will be missed by many, she will be especially missed by her husband, Dick, and daughters and their husbands Debbie (Curt) Pike, Sherry (Jeff) Rose, Linda (Joe) Aguilera and Jaynie (Dan) Sullivan. One of her greatest sources of joy was being the grandmother to their eight grandchildren: Mitchell and Brett Pike; Kevin, Kyle and Courtney Rose; Beth and Richie Aguilera; and Scott Sullivan. She also leaves behind a loving brother, Manny Pacheco, and sister, Sylvia Legerton.

We take great comfort in knowing that she was looking forward to going home to the Lord when she was called.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, at Christ The King Lutheran Church at 1620 South Stage Coach Lane in Fallbrook.
