Bulgarian missionary brings message, music to Emmanuel Baptist

On December 10 at 6:00 p.m., Dr. Margaret Nikol will perform at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 911 East Elder Street.

Dr. Nikol, missionary to Bulgaria, was born into a pastor’s family in communist Bulgaria. Her parents and brother, all pastors in Bulgaria, died at the hands of the Communists.

Despite terrible persecution, Margaret attended some of the best schools behind the Iron Curtain. She earned doctorates in piano, violin, organ and musicology from the University of Moscow. She also studied violin with David Oistach.

Dr. Nikol became concert mistress of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra in East Germany. Her faith and commitment to God led to imprisonment by the Communists. She escaped to the West and ultimately the United States in 1982.

The public is invited to hear her testimony and music. There is no admission charge. A freewill offering will be taken to provide Bulgarian Christians with Bibles, orphanage work and other needs. For more information and/or directions, please call (760) 728-2667.
