Celebrating New School's achievements

What if the headline read “Fallbrook celebrates the New School’s Achievements” instead of “DPLU threatens charter school”? Boy, wouldn’t that be something to be proud of. These are, after all, Fallbrook students we’re talking about. What, as a community, will we tell the children we did to protect their rights regarding their educational opportunities?

If you are part of the Fallbrook community I urge you to step forward on behalf of the children and of the future of this excellent school. Regardless of where your children may attend school, it’s important, as taxpayers, we have a choice whenever possible. Charter schools were created to produce healthy competition in the school district – how wise, and it would seem whole communities could benefit by learning from each other.

Supervisor Horn’s office has not returned any phone calls to parents of students with regards to this matter but will tell any callers “It’s with council.” You might think this means there is a lawsuit, but with further investigation you will find there is not; however, it’s a surefire way to squash any discussion, isn’t it? Meanwhile, 40 first and second grade students are displaced.

Will those who really care for the children please stand up?
