Disappointed in actions of candidate's spouse

When I attended the last meeting of the Fallbrook High School board, I was very disappointed to see the conduct of the wife of a person recently elected to the board – a person that I voted for.
When a member of the public was given her opportunity to address the board, I witnessed this woman verbally ridiculing her and making disrespectful gestures. Obviously she didn’t agree with what the woman was saying, but she did not even afford her the basic courtesy one expects from a responsible, mature adult.
I asked people around me who this rude woman was and was told she was a wife of one of the board members, a retired teacher of the high school. What a disappointment. How big of a mistake have we made in voting into office someone who associates himself with this type of behavior?
