Department of Forestry offers Christmas tree fire safety tips

Christmas is a time for happiness, spending time with family and friends. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection wants to remind everyone that fire knows only destruction and sorrow. Never place candles on the Christmas tree. Avoid placing the tree near a heater or other appliances. Keep the tree in water; a dry Christmas tree will burn with incredible speed. A room can be engulfed in flames and smoke in moments. Be fire safe, not sorry!
