Mr. Richard J. Libby

Mr. Richard J. Libby, 78, passed away in Fallbrook, CA, on December 10, 2006. Born September 13, 1928, in South Dakota, he was a resident of Fallbrook for 31 years.

Mr. Libby served in the US Coast Guard and later owned Libby Construction Company in Fallbrook, from which he retired after 35 years. A member of the Los Arrieos 4-Wheel Drive Jeep Club, he enjoyed his good friends, big band and country western music and restoring old cars and trucks.

Mr. Libby is survived by his wife of 58 years Joyce Libby; daughters and sons-in-law Yvonne & Gary Oltmanns, Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Jodene & William Smith, Ocala, FL, and Monique & Phil Opstad, Temecula, CA; sisters Jean Buliavac, Temple City, CA, and Joan Shaver, Fallbrook, CA; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A private cremation and family memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 2655 Camino Del Rio N., Ste. #100, San Diego, CA 92108, or Fallbrook Hospice, 624 E. Elder St., Fallbrook, CA 92028.
