The group Rainbow Against The quarry (RATq) brought an overflow crowd of close to 250 local residents to a meeting with Granite Construction representative Gary Johnson on Tuesday, December 5. The gathering was held at the Rainbow Valley Grange Hall, where the group was well prepared for the event with microphones inside and a screen along with speakers outside. The main concerns of the group are the levels of air and water pollution and noise and truck traffic that would be produced by the proposed Liberty Quarry just north of the San Diego county line.
