Blood Bank visiting Fallbrook

Last updated 12/15/2006 at Noon

The San Diego Blood Bank Bloodmobile will accept blood donations at a blood drive hosted by Fallbrook Hospital, 624 East Elder Street, Tuesday, December 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

All donors at this drive will be awarded a voucher for a free whale watching trip donated by Helgren’s Oceanside Sportfishing & Islandia Sportfishing. (Due to rising fuel costs there will be a $5 surcharge per person.) Participants will also have the opportunity to join the San Diego Blood Bank’s new Donor Difference program, which includes access to an online store for donors and the ability to track cholesterol, pulse and blood pressure after each donation.

Anyone who is at least 17 years old, in good health and weighs at least 110 pounds may be eligible to give blood. A good meal is recommended prior to donation.

Established through the support of the San Diego County Medical Society in 1950, the San Diego Blood Bank, a nonprofit organization, is the largest blood collection agency in San Diego County. A member of America’s Blood Centers, a national network of community-based blood banks, the San Diego Blood Bank serves patients in 50 hospitals throughout Southern California.

For donor requirements or to make an appointment, call the San Diego Blood Bank at 1-800-4MY-SDBB or visit http://www.sandiegobloodbank.org.
