Volunteers plant trees at Megan's Bluff

On a recent Sunday, 35 Save Our Forest (SOF) and other community volunteers gathered to plant over 100 trees on a bank created by a reconfiguration of East Mission Road at Megan’s Bluff. SOF and Megan’s Bluff residents joined together for the planting, which is intended to create a more attractive entry to Fallbrook from the east.

In a true model of cooperation, SOF donated a variety of oaks and sycamores from its nursery, and property owners at Megan’s Bluff on whose land the trees have been planted have agreed to provide irrigation.

“The community, local residents – everyone benefits from this project,” said Jackie Heyneman, who coordinated the project for Save Our Forest. Volunteers are always needed for ongoing SOF work parties and special projects. Those interested are asked to call Jackie at (760) 728-0889.
