Kids help kids

On Wednesday, December 6, two of Potter Junior High’s “techno-whizzes” went over to San Onofre School to share some of their talents with students there. Justin Jones and Kort Heyneman, key techies for the Potter Junior High Live News Broadcast, shared tips on how to insert music, photos and video clips into movie projects. In addition, they trained students to set up and use the school’s videoconferencing unit. Another challenge included teaching an entire class of fourth grade students how to narrate a PowerPoint presentation. The trip’s grand finale was assisting in setting up the school’s live television broadcasting equipment.

San Onofre students will be visiting Potter in the near future to participate in a live broadcast to familiarize themselves with the equipment and process. Talk about a win-win in education!
