Fallbrook High grad visits Uganda with Invisible Children, Inc.

Chris Sarette, a 2002 Fallbrook High School graduate, recently had the opportunity to travel to Gulu, Uganda, located in Eastern Africa, with a team from the nonprofit organization Invisible Children, Inc. Gulu, in Northern Uganda, has been devastated by a 20-year war between the government of Uganda and a rebel group known as the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).

During his two-week stay, Sarette had the opportunity to witness firsthand many of the effects of the war, including the internally displaced camps which are home to hundreds of thousands of Northern Ugandans, most of whom are children. He also visited the Invisible Children programs operating in the region, including an education initiative and a microeconomic bracelet campaign.

Sarette, who serves Invisible Children as development director, and the rest of the team will bring their experiences back to the Invisible Children headquarters, which is based in San Diego. Visit Invisible Children at http://www.invisiblechildren.com.
