Bonsall incident labeled 'miscommunication'

BONSALL — The incident that prompted a Sheriff’s helicopter to fly over Bonsall on the morning of Tuesday, December 12, alerting residents to be on the lookout for a man wanted in connection to a kidnapping, turned out to be a “miscommunication,” officials said.

“It started with a missing persons report filed by the mother of a 2-year-old,” authorities said. “The mother had left the [child] in the care of a friend and there ended up being a miscommunication between the mom, the friend and the father, who lives in Riverside County.”

The Sheriff’s department reported that the situation was resolved without incident.
