St. Vincent de Paul adopts families

FALLBROOK — The St. Peter’s Chapter of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) will spend an additional $28,000 to help people in need in the community during this Christmas season.

First, SVDP responded to the Fallbrook Food Pantry’s extra needs. During the holiday season this local pantry is inundated with food requests. As a result, even though St. Peter’s has its own mercy food pantry and soup kitchen that feed hundreds of people each month, SVDP donated an extra $6,000 this month to help the Fallbrook Food Pantry with its expenses. The pantry used part of the funds to buy gift certificates that may be exchanged for turkeys at Major Market.

Secondly, SVDP helped the Fallbrook Food Pantry by adopting 40 families through the Christmas Adopt-a-Family program. The charity will spend up to $500 on each of the families for food and Christmas gifts.

Those able to adopt a family for Christmas are asked to contact the Fallbrook Food Pantry at (760) 728-7608. There are still over two hundred families in need of adoption.
