Fallbrook Tribe wins Junior Pee Wee Conference Championship

The Fallbrook Tribe recently won the Pop Warner football Division 2 Palomar Conference Junior Pee Wee Championship. The parents and coaches are proud of the 31 boys who played on the team.

The Tribe went undefeated until the West Coast Semi-Finals. Prior to that upset on November 12 at Poway High School, they beat the San Marcos Bishops 14-0 to win the Palomar Conference.

Head coach Mark Thomas and defensive coach Andrew Rodriguez taught the boys more than just football, as evidenced by the following letter from the Golden Kodiaks, the Temecula team they played on October 21.

I would like to relay to you and Fallbrook board members what outstanding coaching staff and football players the Fallbrook Tribe are. It is hard to play teams now that still understand the reason why we are volunteering our time and what the greatest paycheck that you can receive for doing so. Yes, we all love to win, but yesterday we lost and it was a game that you could walk away from knowing that every player and every coach had had fun and done their best.

I said all this to say Fallbrook coaches and players at all times display respect <and> excellent sportsmanship on and off the field. Lately the coaching staff and players of some of the teams we have played would say and do the unthinkable to our parents and our players.

I would like to say thank you to Fallbrook for coming out and giving us a great experience that we will never forget – a great game with great attitudes, respect and sportsmanship.
