Democrats to hear about Sunrise Power Link

Bill Powers will address the Fallbrook Democratic Club at their next meeting. His topic will be the Sunrise Power Link, a $1.3 billion transmission power line project proposed by Sempra Energy to run from near Mexicali across the Anza-Borrego Desert to a termination in north San Diego County.

Powers is a registered professional engineer, principal of Powers Engineering, an engineering consulting firm, and the chairperson of the Border Power Plant Working Group, a bi-national advocacy group for environmentally sustainable energy policies in the San Diego/Baja region.

Additionally, the club will elect the new officers comprising the 2007 board.

The meeting will be held Thursday, January 4, at 7:00 p.m. at the FPUD Board Room, 990 East Mission Road. For more information contact Club President Jim Dooley at [email protected] or (760) 728-5682, or visit http://www.fallbrookdemocraticclub.com. The club meets the first Thursday of every month.
