Hugh M. Wilson

Hugh M. Wilson, 85, passed away December 24, 2006, in Fallbrook, CA. He was born June 21, 1921, in Elk River, CA. Mr. Wilson was a resident of Fallbrook for 33 years.

Mr. Wilson retired in 1981 after more than 35 years as a pilot for United Airlines. He attended Humboldt State College and served in the US Marine Corps as a pilot with Marine Aircraft Group 25 flying R4Ds in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Fallbrook’s Zion Lutheran Church, the OX-5 Aviation Pioneers, the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Miramar Rod and Gun Club; past member of the Babylon Rod and Gun Club in New York; and flight instructor for Fallbrook Air Park. He enjoyed flying, boating, waterskiing, hunting, skeet and trap shooting and avocado ranching.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen A. (Moynahan) Wilson, Fallbrook; daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Bill Armstrong, Jacksonville, FL; sons and daughters-in-law Hugh (Bud) and Nancy Wilson, Carlsbad, Robert and Rita Wilson, El Cajon, CA, and David and Jennifer Wilson, Bonsall; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Friday, December 29, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Fallbrook. Interment with military honors at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
