Supervisors allocate $2,500 to Camp Pendleton Rotary

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved the allocation of $2,500 in District Five Community Projects funds to the Rotary Club of Camp Pendleton for its Dancing with Heroes fundraising event.

The recommendation of Supervisor Bill Horn was approved by his colleagues December 12. Each county supervisor has a discretionary Community Projects budget which may be used for schools and non-profit organizations which provide services to county citizens and can also be used to supplement other county funding for specific county projects. Allocation of the funds requires approval of the Board of Supervisors.

In addition to services including reading and education programs and other after-school activities for the families of Camp Pendleton servicemen, the Rotary chapter also sponsors a Wounded Warrior rehabilitation center. The Dancing with Heroes event is a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Center, and the Community Projects funds will be used to promote and host the Dancing with Heroes fundraiser.
