Project Wildlife needs volunteers at Care Center

Project Wildlife rescues, rehabilitates and releases thousands of wild birds and mammals throughout San Diego County every year. Volunteers are needed to help orphaned and injured animals for the largest wildlife rehabilitation program in Southern California.

The spring/summer months are known as “Baby Season” and are by far the busiest time of year. Between April and September, our volunteers will help over 11,000 sick, injured and orphaned wild critters found in San Diego.

Project Wildlife has a Wildlife Care Center located close to Interstate 8 and Interstate 5 that is open seven days a week to receive wildlife in need. Not only do we need volunteers to work four-hour shifts each week at our Care Center, but we need people to work with injured and orphaned animals in their homes.

Volunteer information can be obtained on the Project Wildlife Web site, http://www.projectwildlife.org, or by calling Terri Preston, director of volunteers, at (858) 866-0557. Volunteer orientations are held monthly.
