Republican Women to hear Nathan Fletcher

The Fallbrook Republican Women are pleased to once again have Nathan Fletcher as the speaker for the January 12 meeting. Nathan captivated the group when he spoke before leaving for his most recent tour in the Sunni Triangle of Iraq. Now he has returned to tell of some of his experiences ranging from intelligence collection in combat zones to his part in helping to build democracy there.

A counterintelligence/human intelligence specialist, Nathan previously led a Joint Service Team. For his service he was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal.

In 2004, Nathan also served eight months in the Sunni Triangle region of Iraq, conducting operations to identify and neutralize espionage and terrorist activities against United States forces and interests. Among his awards from that tour are the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat “V” for valor, Combat Action Ribbon and Iraqi Campaign Medal.

When not on active duty Nathan serves as a business development adviser and security consultant for San Diego-based companies. Nathan is also the founder of Safe Passage Systems, Inc., which works with public and private sector organizations to improve performance and security.

Sharing the podium with Nathan will be UC San Marcos student Brian Watkins, a Young Republican who recently worked on Governor Schwarzenegger’s successful reelection campaign as a Deputy Field Director for Victory ’06. In this capacity, Brian helped get out the vote (GOTV) for North San Diego County, the largest GOTV effort in the state.

The brunch meeting will be held at the Fallbrook Golf Club at 9:30 a.m. For reservations and cost for the brunch please call Gloria Rowe (760) 728-9875 or Judy Domercq (760) 728-1888.
