Grange invites public to open house, chili dinner

Rainbow Valley Grange is holding an open house with chili dinner on Saturday, January 13, starting at 6:30 p.m. The Grange Hall is located at 2160 Rainbow Valley Boulevard in Rainbow. There is no charge for the dinner.

Once an organization strictly for farmers, the Grange, Patrons of Husbandry, is now open to everyone. Local members include a mortgage banker, two dentists, a horse trainer, three military reservists, a travel agent, a school librarian, a photographer, students, homemakers and retirees.

The Grange is for animal lovers, crafters, community-minded citizens and families. Children can join the Junior Grange at 4 ½ years old. Anyone 13 ½ years of age or older can join what is called the subordinate, or community, Grange.

Grange programs include the Youth Fair Team, Youth Activities, Grange Expo contests (including arts, crafts, photography and horticulture), Legislative Activities and Community Service. The Grange Hall is used as a community meeting place and is available for use by groups and individuals for a donation. Members can use the Hall free of charge. To learn more, all are welcome to the open house. For more information, call Ed Komski at (760) 310-6500.
