Learn to be an effective supervisor

Anyone in charge of an office knows it can be a challenge. Those looking for ways to better meet those challenges can take advantage of the upcoming Supervisory Academy, a series of nine workshops offered through MiraCosta College’s Community Services Program.

Workshops will be held 9 a.m. to noon on Fridays, February 2, to April 20 (no class February 16, March 16 or April 6), in room 3201 at MiraCosta’s Oceanside Campus, 1 Barnard Drive.

Topics: Supervisory Overview and Leadership Styles on February 2; Communication and Motivation, February 9; Dealing with Difficult People/Conflict Resolution, February 23; Developing Effective Teams, March 2; Facilitation Skills, March 9; Problem Solving, March 23; Time/Stress Management, March 30; Human Resource Issues, April 13; and Evaluating and Improving Employee Performance, April 20.

Instructors all use interactive teaching strategies and have excellent academic qualifications in addition to years of experience training in the business world.

Participants may enroll in all nine workshops for a discounted price or sign up for individual classes at a price per class. Participants who attend all nine workshops will receive a certificate of completion.
