Rod Campo: Making life easier for homeowners, businesses

In today’s busy world, if a conscientious business professional can make your life easier by guiding you carefully through the process of buying or selling a home, shopping for a new mortgage, refinancing your existing mortgage, obtaining a construction loan or locating money sources for business needs, they are worth their weight in gold. In the mortgage, real estate and money business, Rod Campo is indeed solid gold.

After a successful executive background with Eastman Kodak Company, Campo affiliated himself with G.M. Mortgage and Realty Co. Inc., where he counsels clients and finds solutions to their needs – solutions that are in the client’s best interest.

“I want to be able to sleep at night; if I don’t believe the solution is the right one, I won’t do it,” Campo said. “I advise each client as though it was a decision I was making for myself.”

Whether he is helping someone purchase their first home or advising a seasoned investor on commercial real estate purchases or a business expansion, Campo says his goal is “to help them set up a plan for success and consider the big picture.” In addition to having access to a pool of some 250 lenders, Campo says he is also able to bring valuable corporate business experience to small business.

Originally from upstate New York, Campo first discovered Fallbrook 35 years ago, when he served in the Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton.

“One of my fondest memories from back then was of the train that used to come through town,” he reflected.

Shortly after finding Fallbrook, he introduced his high school sweetheart, Carol, to it. The couple has now been married for 34 years and has a daughter, Kristen, 26, and son, James, 25.

After his military service, Campo secured a bachelors degree in electrical engineering and began his career with Eastman Kodak, where he was assigned to the eastern part of the United States. Ultimately, the Campos were able to get a transfer back to the west coast 15 years ago and finally realized their dream of being able to live in Fallbrook five years ago.

Making his home in Fallbrook, Campo says, provides ample opportunity for him to indulge in his passion for golf and the arts while helping fellow citizens and businesspeople in this rural community. He also maintains a business network in Orange and Riverside counties as well as San Diego, because, he says, there is a tremendous amount of business done between the three counties.

One of the most important services Campo provides is credit analysis. He counsels individuals and couples on how to improve their credit scores by explaining facts that affect scores that are little known to the average consumer.

“Many people believe it is difficult to correct credit reports that are reflecting bad information and that’s not necessarily true,” he said. “Many times credit reports can be corrected overnight with the right documents.” Whether he is performing a credit analysis, helping a client sell or buy a piece of real estate or shopping a new mortgage for them, he provides a personalized service that is convenient for the client.

With the intent of saving his customers time and money, Rod Campo enjoys being a ‘one-stop shopping’ source for real estate and money matters.
