Bringing spirit to Pop Warner games

FALLBROOK — The five Fallbrook Pop Warner Little Scholars Cheer Squads were an inspiration to their partner football teams in making this a very successful 2006 season. The cheerleaders practiced throughout the week after school and performed with spirit and pride every Saturday at their respective football games.

On October 29, 2006, Palomar Pop Warner hosted the San Diego and Palomar Conference Cheer Competition and Performance at the San Diego State University Cox Arena. There were nearly 1,500 participants ranging in age from 5 to 16. The flag football cheer teams performed a dance for opening ceremonies and the older cheer teams performed a combination dance and cheer in front of a panel of judges. The Fallbrook Junior Midget team took first place and advanced to the regional competition, where they earned another first place finish. They then moved on to the national competition in Orlando, FL, and were very successful there as well.

Participation in the Pop Warner Spirit Program provides kids an opportunity to perform in an organized, supervised, safety-oriented environment. Pop Warner programs emphasize fun for all and encourage the development of qualities important long after Pop Warner days are gone.
