Pauline J. Clarke Keir-Hvoslef

Pauline J. Clarke Keir-Hvoslef, 84, a longtime resident of Escondido, passed away at Villa Del Rey Retirement Center on January 3, 2007. She was born February 26, 1922, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to William J. and Ernestine (Berbue) Clarke, the youngest of six children.

Pauline married Harold C. Keir on May 31, 1943, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They were married 29 years and had three children, Gerald, Teresa and Michael.

She loved to travel, going to Australia, Mexico and Canada and taking several trips to Norway and Europe with her second husband, Ragnar R. Hvoslef. They were married in August 1975.

While living in Escondido, Pauline loved tending a local rose garden. She and Ragnar enjoyed lawn bowling, ballroom dancing and the music of the 1940s and ’50s. They never missed a chance to be out on the dance floor.

Pauline is survived by husband Ragnar; son Gerald and his wife Gloria; son Michael; daughter Teresa; grandchildren Anthony Keir, Alanna Keir and Stacia Keir-Tentoea; and great-grandson Joshua Tentoea. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold C. Keir.

A memorial was held in the chapel of Villa Del Rey with Father Tony Faint. Arrangements were provided by Berry-Bell & Hall of Fallbrook.
