Thank you, Fallbrook Healthcare Foundation

I’m writing to thank the Fallbrook Healthcare Foundation for the consistent, tenacious, creative, dedicated hard work they provide our community, from free rides for seniors and handicapped to doctors’ appointments and grocery stores via the Care Van to researching health questions and giving answers and providing needy individuals with soap, lotions, shampoo and conditioners, clothing and household goods.

I recently had the best fortune when I contacted the organization for a “patient advocate” and was referred to Shaun Lemon, LVN. My original request was that I needed help in communicating with some of my medical professionals. When Shaun came to my apartment she noticed my frustration (and pain) when I attempted negotiating around my apartment. The carpeting was old, buckling and bunching up under my wheels. It was like rolling through sand! Shaun immediately contacted my apartment management and arranged for new vinyl flooring to be installed throughout. She even assembled a great team of volunteers to move all my furniture out of the apartment and then back in after the floor was put down in one day! (Her son, James, is a technical wizard, so cable TV service was working perfectly when I came home!) Thank you, volunteers!

Shaun says the Fallbrook Healthcare Foundation can replace dentures and hearing aides, too. They’ve already given me a “Health Watch” box to call for help for me in case I can’t get to my phone.

I can’t thank this group enough.
