FFA placings high, faces bright at Norte Vista

This weekend, Fallbrook FFA took eight judging teams up to Norte Vista High School to compete at the Norte Vista Field Day. This field day is open to the 15 chapters in the San Diego Section, and Fallbrook FFA did exceptionally well.

The Farm Records team placed third with Allison Jones placing third and Marissa Tescier placing sixth individually; Ornamental Horticulture placed third with Maggie Maratsos placing second and Ryan Rico placing eighth; Specialty Animals placed second with Kelsey Adams placing fourth, Amanda Stamp placing eight and Ashley Miller placing tenth; and the Vegetable Team placed second with Julianne Duffin placing third. In Livestock Judging, Kevin McGuire placed third, and lastly, in BIG (Best Informed Greenhand), Wade Colburn placed third and Jeanette Pun placed eigth. Fallbrook FFA was extremely successful in this contest; congratulations to all of the winners!

The next activity that our chapter will be involved in is the February Chapter Meeting on Tuesday, January 13. The previously elected Greenhand Officers will be running this meeting and showing off their superb leadership skills. Along with this, on February 14, selected members from the Fallbrook FFA will be traveling to Tulare for the World Ag Expo. This is an opportunity for members to meet individuals who have agricultural careers from all over the world!
