Tourism expansion possible

The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce is expanding the ways in which it promotes tourism to Fallbrook. It is investing $6,300 with the Fallbrook Area Visitors Bureau, which will promote “Find Fallbrook” and other innovative marketing programs.

The Chamber’s 600-plus members represent the full spectrum of manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and service providers doing business in Fallbrook. “Tourists provide additional sales revenues for many of our Chamber members during their first visit,” according to Phil Delaney, President of the Chamber of Commerce. “Members in the real estate industry and other businesses have reported their research found a larger than expected number of clients, who first learned about the benefits of Fallbrook while visiting to attend one of the special events in Fallbrook.”

Chamber President Elect Frank Hopkins and former Chamber board member Julie Reeder are both Fallbrook Area Visitor Bureau (FAVB) board members. The FAVB developed “Find Fallbrook” as a marketing strategy, have approved a logo for the program and are working on a number of other programs to enlarge and benefit visitors to Fallbrook.

Last March, the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce provided $13,982 to the same organization just after its formation. The Chamber believes that assisting the Fallbrook Area Visitors Bureau to target different potential customers for Fallbrook businesses is a good investment.

The Chamber continues its independent Tourism Bureau activities by providing information at its office seven days a week, through its Web site (www.fallbrookca.org) 24 hours a day and publication and distribution of the Fallbrook Street Map and Tourism Guide.
