Pep rally held for the 'magic' man

FALLBROOK — Bob Burton’s life and accomplishments were honored on Saturday, January 27, with a pep rally attended by well over 500 people – a fitting tribute to the man who devoted 30 years (1966-1996) to cultivating school spirit at Fallbrook High School.

Held appropriately at the Bob Burton Center for the Performing arts, a facility that carried his name as a symbol of the enormous respect this man garnered from the community for making all students feel valuable, the event was uplifting.

Special speakers at the celebration of Burton’s life included Mark Howard, Fred Studer, Dr. Robert Thomoas, Mark Violet, Florene Villane, Barb Kessel, Ron Sturzenegger, Tom Pack, Josh Way, Pete Cahn and Marc Steffler.

The two and one-half hours of remembrance, which captured the essence of this “magic” man, closed with the audience singing the Fallbrook High School alma mater.
