Public invited to fire remembrance

The Fallbrook Fire Safe Council invites the public to attend a press conference to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Gavilan Fire on February 10 at 10 a.m. at 518 Hilbert Drive. Families affected by the fire, neighbors and community members are encouraged to attend. On this occasion, a home site which is the last one not cleared, rebuilt or sold;, will be cleared by community volunteers including North County Fire personnel, high school Fire Explorers, CERT members, A&W Grading & Paving, Fallbrook Equipment Rental, and Diamond Environmental Services. This expression of community spirit is the first step towards a new home for the last of the fire victims.
