Tom Ball & Kenny Sultan bring blues, rags and goodtime music to Fallbrook

FALLBROOK- Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan on harmonica and guitar have been doing blues, rags and good time music in concerts, clubs and festivals all over the world for 25 years. Their credits include eight albums, all four venues at the 1984 Olympic Games, Levi’s Blues commercials and frequent guest slots on National Public Radio. They have shared the stage with blues luminaries like Gatemouth Brown, Etta James, and B.B. King.

Tom began playing harmonica at age 14 soon focusing on Chicago style blues. He is a blues historian and has written many articles and three instruction books. He’s done tracks for many TV and film projects and has served as sideman on more than 85 releases.

Kenny Sultan started guitar at age 7 and was introduced to blues by his brother. He soon focused on the T-Bone Walker and Lightnin’ Hopkins styles he plays with Tom. He is also a prolific producer writing three instructional books which include video tapes. He graduated with honors in ethnomusicology from UC Santa Barbara and has become a noted teacher in music, guitar and music history. They appear in concert in Fallbrook, Saturday, February 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Hilltop Center, 331E. Elder hosted by the Fallbrook Americana Music Series.
