Cooper to face trial for Liebner murders

Jason Duane Cooper, who has been accused of the stabbing deaths of his mother-in-law and his wife’s younger sister has been bound over to answer for both murders. “At the January 9 preliminary hearing, evidence was presented and the bottom line is that all the charges were bound over and he was held to answer on both murder charges,” said Kimberlee Lagotta, deputy district attorney. Cooper is accused of stabbing to death his mother-in-law Robyn Denise Liebner, 53 and his wife’s younger sister Jenna Marie Liebner, 16, in the entry-way of their Fallbrook home in May 2006. At the time of the arrest, Lagotta said Cooper placed the 911 call himself, but before police arrived, Thomas Leibner, the husband and father of the victims arrived to find his family members dead.
