RE: Not even President Bush is above the law

Joe Howard Crews is ranting and raving once again. He says, “President Bush has committed high crimes and misdemeanors and must be impeached and removed from office.” Bush hasn’t committed crimes and misdemeanors, so therefore people shouldn’t be even talking about impeaching him. Unfortunately, we live in a society where people rant and rave with no credibility behind their statements.

Joe Crews states that Bush violated FISA and the Geneva Convention. Well, Joe I know you’re very mistaken because Bush didn’t violate anything. Personally, I think that when Congress told President Bush he could use “all necessary and appropriate military force” to combat terrorists he should be able to freely wiretap whatever he feels is needed to get the job done. As far as I am concerned, FISA’s act of 1978 went out the window after this statement by Congress on September 14, 2001. What President Bush should have done was execute every detainee at Gitmo in Cuba. The Geneva Convention says that all POWs who were captured and were not in uniform or from a conventional military force may be considered as spies. A spy can legally be hung under the Geneva Convention. This brings me to a question. Has Joe Crews even seen or know what the Geneva Convention is before he begins to argue Bush violated it? The prisoners are treated fairly well; however, when our military personnel are captured by the enemy they are being beheaded on tape. Since when do POWs get lawyers on their behalf?

Pelosi took impeachment “off the table” because there is no reason to impeach Bush and because in order to impeach someone the House has to get a 2/3 consensus. She knows that she won’t get either. By the way Nixon was never impeached and Watergate is a different situation all together Joe Howard Crews. Bush doesn’t operate outside the law, nor is he above it.

I have a letter prepared to counter Jon Monday, but due to the 350 word restriction I cannot send it this week.
