Warriors boys’ basketball team faced off against the Oceanside Pirates. They defeated the Pirates in an exciting league game by the score of Fallbrook 49, Oceanside 45. Overall, the fast-paced game was filled with enthusiastic fans and many three point shots by Marcus Breshnahan.
The game began with Fallbrook in control as Nolan Robinson was all over the court and scored seven points to get the first lead of the night. The first quarter was won by the Warriors as they maintained the tempo and outscored the opponent. The second quarter was not as successful for the Warriors as they let the Pirates back in the game and eventually take the lead before going into the locker-room.
The second half was very exciting as there were several lead changes, many steals and game-winning free throws by Corey Clark. The game went back and forth and then, with 1:10 left in the fourth quarter, Marcus Breshnahan hit a three pointer to regain the lead for the Warriors. The score at this point was 45-44. Oceanside scored one free throw, but then Corey Clark got fouled two separate times and made his free throws to seal the deal.
The game was very intense with some notable standouts:
Marcus Breshnahan: 19 points, 2 steals and 3 rebounds
Corey Clark: 12 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds
Nolan Robinson: 14 points, 7 rebounds and 1 block
Bryce Dornon: 6 rebounds
