Fallbrook squeaks by Oceanside to cribbage match win

The Fallbrook Senior Center cribbage team narrowly won the January 25 Senior Challenge. With 38 players in the event, the Fallbrook team won 67 games to the Oceanside Senior Center team’s 66 wins.

Leading the way for Fallbrook was Ed Wozniak, who won all seven games. In second and third were Oceanside’s Bob Rebar and Fallbrook’s Norman Peterson, who each had five wins with two skunks. Rounding out the top five were Carl Troupe and Barb Sacic with five wins and one skunk apiece. Ed also won the $25 gift card donated by Albertsons. He had the special hand, which was the first triple run (15-point) hand of the day.

Matches are held on the fourth Thursday of the month and consist of seven games.

The next match will be held February 22 at the Vista Elks Lodge, 1947 East Vista Way. Phone (760) 724-1968. Play begins at 12:30 p.m. Anyone who enjoys cribbage is welcome to join the fun. Those who want to eat lunch can come at 11:30 a.m.
