Moonlight 2007 Summer Season of Musicals announced

VISTA — Moonlight Stage Productions announces an exciting 2007 Summer Season of Musicals at its outdoor facility, the Moonlight Amphitheater. The 27th Summer Season brings patrons San Diego’s most unique theater experience with four spectacular favorite musicals under the stars, including “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Me and My Girl,” “West Side Story” and “Little Shop of Horrors.” Season packages for the 2007 Summer Season are on sale beginning April 10 and single tickets are available beginning May 22 at the VisTix Ticket Office, 651 East Vista Way in Vista, or by calling (760) 724-2110.

The Summer Season opens with Irving Berlin’s musical about the legendary Annie Oakley – “Annie Get Your Gun.” The show begins at 8:00 p.m. and runs June 27 through July 8.

In “Me and My Girl,” audiences will experience the riotously funny musical comedy in which a bloke named Bill Snibson finds he is heir to a fortune but must pass the test of becoming an English gentleman to inherit the money. It takes the stage from July 18 through July 29, with a curtain time of 8:00 p.m.

The landmark theatrical masterpiece “West Side Story” is the third show of the season. The world’s greatest love story takes to the streets of New York, telling a heart-wrenching “Romeo and Juliet” tale as relevant as today. It will appear onstage from August 15 through August 26, with show time at 7:30 p.m.

Moonlight’s final show of the season is the quirky pop-rock musical “Little Shop of Horrors.” This musical will have the audience “rockin’ and rollin’ the night away” with a blond bombshell named Audrey, a hard-luck kid named Seymour, a gargantuan plant with a soulful voice and a leather-jacketed dentist. “Little Shop of Horrors” hits the Moonlight Amphitheater stage on September 5 and runs through September 16, with shows beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The Moonlight Amphitheater is located in Brengle Terrace Park, 1200 Vale Terrace Drive, in Vista. Performance evenings are Wednesdays through Sundays. Amphitheater seating begins 90 minutes prior to show time for pre-show picnics.
