'Annie Warbucks' opening March 16

FALLBROOK — The world’s favorite orphan returns in the long-awaited sequel to the international smash-hit “Annie.” In the best comic strip tradition, “Annie Warbucks” begins exactly where “Annie” ends. The Fallbrook Players Junior Conservatory (FPJC) will present “Annie Warbucks” March 16-25.

As the curtain rises on “Annie Warbucks,” the sun has come out and Annie and Daddy Warbucks are together – until the authorities announce that Warbucks has to find Annie a mother or return her to the orphanage.

“Many people have seen ‘Annie,’” said FPJC President Connie Knox. “What they don’t know is how her story ends. This sequel is a must-see for every ‘Annie’ fan because the story is funny and romantic and the singing and dancing are great.”

“‘Annie’ and ‘Annie Warbucks’ are two completely different shows, just like ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Wicked’ are so different,” she added. “They both have a couple of characters in common, but there the similarities end.”

FPJC’s production opens March 16 and plays at the Mission Theater through March 25. Friday and Saturday show times are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the theater box office by calling (760) 731-2278.
