Garden Club announces April flower show

The Fallbrook Garden Club will present its 76th annual standard flower show, “A Rainbow of Color,” April 28-29 at the Fallbrook Community Center. The show will be open to the public Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. The competition is open to any amateur gardener or designer. Exhibitors need not be members of a garden club to enter.

In the horticulture division, any cut specimen, container plant, fruit, nut or vegetable is eligible for entry as long as it is fresh (no dried materials), clean and pest-free and was grown by exhibitor. Container-grown plants must have been in the exhibitor’s possession at least 90 days.

Floral design and artistic crafts do require advance registration by April 14. To register, call Yolande Jackson at (760) 728-0301.

In addition to horticulture and floral design there will be educational and youth exhibits, a plant sale, live music by harpist Sam Sanchez and raffle prizes including a variety of plants and garden-related items. For more information contact Pauline Sechi at (760) 728-6622.
