Interact students plan future events

Fallbrook Union High School Interact Club officers Amy Hansen, Syndee Caldwell and Stott Bushnell recently related their spring plans to the Rotary Club of Fallbrook. Interact is a Rotary-sponsored youth program designed to assist and promote leadership and service to the community among the youth of Fallbrook, and around the world.

The FUHS Interact Club has over 100 members. Upcoming club projects include a March 28 visit to La Gloria Orphanage in Tijuana, a fundraising car wash in May and attendance of a summer Lake Elsinore Storm baseball game with members of the Rotary Club of Fallbrook. Most recently, they worked with a joint Africa-Rotary project.

Current Interact President Hansen just won the Rotary 4-Way Speech Contest for the second year in a row. She has been accepted to Brigham Young University, where she will begin studies this fall.

Bushnell, a swimming star at FUHS, will be the new Interact president in the fall. His brother was Interact president two years ago. Interact Secretary Caldwell spent last year in Sweden as part of the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.
