Vehicles, instruments, jewelry, more offered on auction block

Hundreds of items, from cars to collectibles, will be auctioned off by the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Public Administrator/Public Guardian (PA/PG) at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 17.

The event, which will take place at the County Operations Annex in Kearny Mesa, 5201-A Ruffin Road, San Diego, will feature a wide variety of assets from numerous court-appointed decedent and conservatorship estates managed by PA/PG.

“This event provides an opportunity for the public to find bargains on unique items and everyday items while benefiting the estates we administer,” said Public Administrator Chuck Matthews.

Registration and viewing of auction items will begin at 8 a.m., with the vehicle auction starting at 8:30 and all other items to follow. Customers are required to pay for and pick up the auction property by 2 p.m. that same day. Pictures of some of the items for sale are available on the PA/PG department’s Web site at http://www.papg.org.

PA/PG investigates and administers the estates of persons who die with no will or without an appropriate person willing or able to act as an administrator, usually managing the affairs of 300 to 400 estates at any given time. PA/PG also investigates conservatorship matters and serves as the legally appointed guardian for elderly and disabled persons found by the court to be unable to manage their own assets and personal care.

Personal property estate sales are held on the third Saturday of odd-numbered months. For additional information about items available for sale, please call (858) 694-3500.
