Join the Fallbrook CROP Walk

“About 18,000 children die every day because of hunger and malnutrition, and 850 million people go to bed every night with empty stomachs,” says James Morris, head of the UN food agency. “This is a shameful fact, a terrible indictment of the world in 2007.”

In a CROP Walk we join with folks in over 2,000 communities across the USA who want to make the world a better place. Though we may never see the people assisted by our efforts, we are making a difference in their lives and in ours.

CROP Walkers help fight hunger and provide relief in more than 80 countries, including the United States. CROP Walkers help hundreds of villages everywhere to have a well – safe, clean water near their homes. CROP Walkers help more than 3,200 local food pantries, food banks and meal sites in the United States to provide food to neighbors in need. Of the total amount of money collected by the Fallbrook CROP Walk, one-fourth of the money will be given to the Fallbrook Food Pantry to provide food for those in need in our community.

You are invited to join us in this great endeavor by walking or sponsoring a walker for the Fallbrook CROP Walk on Sunday, March 25. We will gather at the Fallbrook Food Pantry, located at 1042 South Mission Road in Fallbrook, at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, to greet each other and turn in our sponsor sheets and the money we have collected. A prayer of thanksgiving will be offered and at 1:30 p.m. the walk will begin.

Maps and t-shirts for walkers will be available at the Food Pantry on the day of the event. Our walking route is approximately three miles long and will start and finish at the Fallbrook Food Pantry. If you have questions or would like additional information about the walk, please call Herman Van den Bosch at (760) 728-3036 or the Fallbrook Food Pantry at (760) 728-7608.
