Avocado Festival coming April 22

Enjoy Fallbrook’s 21st Annual Avocado Festival on April 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will contain 350 booths and 55 different types of food, including Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai and other ethnic foods, Fallbrook’s famous Guacamole, hot dogs and hamburgers, barbecue, shaved ice, avocado ice cream and soft drinks.

Two refreshment areas will be offered with live music by Blue Zone and the Avocado Moon Band. Regional artisans’ products – such as hand-blown glass, carved avocado wood, jewelry, musical instruments, hand-painted crafts, original art and more – will be offered for sale.

The popular Farmers Market & Exhibition Area will include avocados, cherimoya, citrus, strawberries, macadamia nuts, herbs and plants of all kinds. Culinary contests will be held for guacamole, salsa, Fallbrook fruit dish and avocado-based recipes. An internationally known Japanese chef will return for a repeat performance of his sushi preparation. Student exhibitions and entertainment are scheduled and the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club will hold a mini-show at Peter’s Auto Center (corner of Main and Fig).
