Soroptimists of Fallbrook

FALLBROOK — Soroptimist International of Fallbrook is offering three scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing a higher education. Applicants must reside in the greater Fallbrook area.

The first scholarship is $3,000 two-year educational scholarship to a four-year college or university. Recipients must carry a minimum of 12 units in order to qualify. The payment is $750 per semester.

The second scholarship is a $1,000 junior college scholarship, which will be awarded to a student who will attend a local junior college, and is intended to cover educational expenses during the first year at school. Recipient must carry a minimum of 12 units to qualify. The payment is $500 per semester.

The third scholarship is a $1,000 vocational scholarship, which will be awarded to a student who will be pursuing education at a trade school or by taking trade-related courses at a community college. Auto mechanics, culinary arts, cosmetology and medical assisting are examples of studies that would qualify for this scholarship.

An official school transcript from the most recent semester must be submitted with each application. Applications are available at the high school Career Counseling Center at Fallbrook High School, Ivy High School and Oasis High School.
