March 28 is Diabetes Awareness Day

On March 28, Fallbrook Pharmacy’s Diabetes Shoppe will be providing a free screening for diabetes and cardiovascular disease by registered nurses from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Diabetes Awareness Day event will also feature a guest appearance by Iron-man triathlete “Iron Andy.”

The diabetes test takes five to 10 minutes and includes determining BMI, weight, blood pressure and glucose testing. Nurses will discuss risk factors for diabetes, teach how to prevent diabetes complications and talk about diabetes products besides giving free samples and literature. Cardio Vision will provide cardiovascular screening by appointment at a cost of $25.
