Fahnestocks celebrate 69th wedding anniversary

Fred and Jessie Fahnestock of Fallbrook celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on March 11. They were married in Los Angeles on March 11, 1938. Fred served in WWII in the US Air Force as a tail-gunner in a B-24 Bomber in the European Theater. After the war, Fred worked for a short time for a car dealer. After schooling and tests he was hired as technical inspector for the Government Procurement Agencies. Fred retired in 1976.

The Fahnestocks have two children, Fred Fahnestock, Grand Junction, CO, and Jim Fahnestock, Fallbrook. They have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Jessie Fahnestock graduated from Beverly Hills High School and worked for department stores as a clerk in executive women’s apparel. Jessie is a member of the Fallbrook Woman’s Club and she and Fred are both active members of the Fallbrook United Methodist Church.
