Is Granite Construction gambling with your health?

It is self-evident that the one who pays for the Environmental Impact Report – which is due to come out in the spring – and chooses the company to do it will have the report slanted in their favor.

Wake up, locals and concerned residents living close to this (proposed) Liberty gravel quarry! Let your “so-called” political representatives know that you are concerned about your future health.

Anyone living close to this (proposed) one-mile-long, 1,000-foot-deep open pit gravel mine will be inundated with silica dust blowing from the blasting and crushing of rock, not to mention the air pollutants from diesel truck exhaust fumes.

The prevailing winds in the immediate area of the gravel quarry will intensify the problems. These Santa Ana winds blow at speeds up to 30 to 40 mph across the Temecula hills and Rainbow valley, carrying the deadly silica dust far beyond our immediate homes.

There are approximately 40 schools in the Temecula/Murrieta/Fallbrook/Rainbow area with well over 50,000 students. These children would all be at risk from silica dust.

Is the owner of this (proposed) quarry, Granite Construction, willing to gamble with the health and lives of the children?

Many local politicians have been made aware of this proposed quarry by letters. They answer that they “are waiting for the Environmental Impact Report” before forming an opinion.

Again, who is paying for the report?
